Hysteroscopy polypectomy is a procedure performed to remove uterine polyps (abnormal growths that develop in the lining of the uterus) using a hysteroscope, a thin, flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it. The hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus, allowing the gynecologist to visualize the uterine cavity and identify any polyps present.
At Jogal Women’s Hospital, we are committed to providing personalized care that meets the unique needs of every patient. Our highly skilled gynecologist Dr. Deven Jogal specializes in hysteroscopy polypectomy and other advanced gynecological procedures. We utilize state-of-the-art equipment and adhere to the highest medical standards to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Procedure
During the procedure, the gynecologist may also take tissue samples (biopsy) from the uterine lining for further examination. Hysteroscopy polypectomy is typically performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you can return home on the same day.
Recovery and Follow-up Care
After hysteroscopy polypectomy, you can expect a relatively quick recovery. Most women can resume their regular activities within a day or two. Mild cramping or spotting may be experienced for a short period, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Our dedicated medical team will provide you with detailed instructions on post-procedure care and any necessary medications. We will also schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, discuss any biopsy results, and address any concerns you may have.
